After writing my last blog entry, I then spent the evening trying to make a decision on where to go next :/ Leyte was my first choice, because the diving around Padre Burgos is supposed to be pretty good. But it's a bit of a shhhleck!
So, when I awoke the following morning ,wednesday March 7th...I headed to the ferry port, still undecided!!
Bohol it is!!! A little gutted I hadn't left enough time for Leyte, next time eh!!
It's a short 2hr ferry ride to Tagbilaran. A busy, noisy overrun town. I make a very quick exit by motorbike...my huge backpack & all!! A 2hr V uncomfortable drive to Anda, 3km of stunning untouched empty white-sand beach stretching west along the coastline.
I stayed at Flower Beach Resort..the most expensive place so far! 3x more expensive infact!! Bohol is a very expensive island..I had no idea :/ The location was stunning, my hut looked out to the ocean, but the food was so dreadful..and the company..mmm..well, mostly German! Nice enough guys, except for the stereotypical skimpy speedo's, socks and sandals!!
Conversation was v limited when your outnumbered by 11 Germans :/
I stayed just 3 very expensive nights. Thank goodness an American guy, Jason arrived on my 2nd night..'Yaay' someone to talk to in 'English'! Think we kept each other sane, with a few beers and giggles over what colour speedo's would be fashioned each day ;)
Each morning I would get up really early. With nobody about, i'd have a refreshing swim in the beautiful turquoise water to wake me up. But the best part of my stay was a day spent diving. The corals and fish were really beautiful. Just the dive master and me, meaning no 'air guzzlers' or over crowding!! 2 very long chilled dives :)
Although lovely, 3 nights was enough!
Feeling a bit bored, penniless and sick of the food...time to move on!!!
