Sorry for the delay... just been suffering from a wee bit of travellers 'shell shockedness'...:-) I will now try and give a flavour of life on the road since finishing Raleigh and of my experience in the Phillipines so far.
Well as you know i left Raleigh on Dec 21st and spent Xmas in Kuching, Sarawak which was truly lovely. I then set off in my travels alone on 27th Dec 2010... scarey! I got a cab to KK airport and boarded a flight to Clark in the Phillipines ( 2 hours North of Manila). For those of you not familiar with this neck of the woods, it boasts 10,000 prositutes in the small(ish) town and is apparently a touch on the sleasy side to put it midly...lol. I decided therefore to give this a wide birth and head straight for Manila. Not before meeting some Filipino woman on the plane however who was loaded, boasting the whole way about all her businesses and money and dripping in diamonds. She would have given me a lift to Manila; however her driver was bringing 3 bodyguards with him to pick her up today so there was no room!!!!.. I quickly discovered there are only two types of Filipinos.. rich ones and poor ones! I have since spent many a long bus journey cramped up next to poor ones and have decided that i like them much better!! They are so friendly, will share anything they have ( I have been offered so many snacks by random strangers- including quials eggs) and are happy to give me a running comentary of the scenery as we pass by hour after hour. All this, whilst practically sat on each others laps in seats made for people half my size ( Filipino;s actually:-) ) to be cont....
