The Rocky Mountains! We arrived Sunday night after a very long trip from LA. We left Michele's at 8.30am and got to our digs...The Terrace Houses at Snowmass...11.30pm local time. The usual 5 hour trip from Denver to Snowmass was an 8 hour one thanks to a semi roll over and closure of the I70. We had to take Loveland Pass a very windy icy road, along with traffic both ways made for a slow and laborious journey.
Well if that's the worst that can happen I am not complaining.
Went out for a ski yesterday...spent about 5 hours out there getting our snow legs before après margaritas. The Spanish influence is really prevalent in the US - particularly in California because of it's proximity to Mexico - but even here the cantina bar we went to for drinks appeared to have muchos authenticos guacamole!
The photo attached to this blog is a view from our apartment lounge window. The lift access to the mountain is at the end of the lane that runs to the left of shot...about 100 mts walk. Today it's minus 7 and snowing so we will rug up and get amongst it!
