Saturday 16th June - well in a week i will be back in Aus..... ready to have a good sleep in my own bed - but sad to be leaving my travelling behind me.
On Thursday i caught the tube up to camden markets and had a look around - being a week day it was quiet and not much to see. Then the tube to Baker St and I did a tour of the Lords Cricket ground. The highlight being in the members pavilon and being inside the dressinig room that Australia uses when playing there! I also saw the Ashes urn - but while we were told it was the real thing - I have heard that it is a replica.... Then i met my friend after she finished work to have some drinks in near Regents park - that is after i walked to Buckingham Palace to take a photo of the Queen - i don't think she was in though...
Friday It was bus trip time again - this time to Oxford and Stratford. Oxford is a lovely University town and i spent my time there at Christ Church which is a part of the uni, and more importantly - the great hall there was the inspiration for the Hogwarts dining hall in Harry Potter and they even filmed some of the first 2 movies on the grounds. Stratford is the birthplace of Shakespeare and we saw the house where his wife - Anne Hathoway lived - and the house where he was born. Tudor houses that were lovely.
Last night - the local pub again - and no i haven't just been drinking here!, and today Portobello markets - which is about 200m from where i'm staying! and then an exhibition in the arvo. Tomorrow - more markets - and then I fly out for Thailand that evening. :-( sad to be leaving my friends in London, who have been a blast, and sad to be nearing rthe end... but happy to be going to Thailand - somewhere i haven't been before and happy to be spending 3 days by the pool.
