Well hello to all & welcome to Vancouver & 'How To Cram Vancouver Into One Day' by Kate & Lynn
Arrived from Vancouver Island after taking the 5.45am coach/ferry to Vancouver, hit our hotel at 9.30am & ready to go at 10.00am, fortunately for us the Big Red Hop On, Hop Off Bus stopped right by our hotel! Bonus!! then we're off round Vancouver... Granville Island, Stanley Park, BC Stadium, Rogers Arena, Robson Street (one of the main shopping roads), resisted the urge to hop off & shop, next round to China Town, Gas Town & finally Canada Place.
Quick Starbucks coffee, cake, much photo taking & then onto our bus transfer to Capilano, I must have had a touch of too much sun, as it was me who mentioned we should have time to fit in this attraction (they have some awefully high suspension bridge rising 450' above the valley floor) but hey it's a major attraction & so off we went.
I'd like to say there are some fantastic views from the bridge but all I was interested in was getting to the other side, then there was worse to come, there is only one way to get back & that's to cross it again. HELP!!! I did manage to cling on to the side & take Lynn's photo half way across, what makes it worse is there is always some smart arse that tries to make it swing & very wobbly!!! A quick dash across the tree top adventure & we're off again.
Back to Vancouver & the Apple Shop in the Pacific Centre to charge up our phones. Next down to West Georgia Street to hire bikes & take the perimiter route round Stanley Park, forgot to mention but the weather is just amazing here, got some more great photos & a 6 mile bike ride. We then quickly hot footed it back into the city & to Gas Town (it's has the world's first steam clock) & finally cocktails & something to each at the West Street Cafe
It's by now 10.30pm & time to head off back to our hotel for an early start for our unmissable Rock Mountaineer journey
