Nush again ...
We landed safely in Chiang Mai and found a really nice guest house with not so nice bedrooms, but it was fine to stay in.... we had a walk round the town and found it so weird goin from Laos where everything was still pretty rural, to Chiang Mai where it was really built up...i mean they had a starbucks!!! but still a really nice city and plenty to do....
G hired a moped the next day which i had every intention of doing.....drove it about 1 yard and crashed it into the pavement, so that idea went quickly out the window!! K & G decided they were goin to go to the temples around the town and as we couldnt get anymore on the bike i decided to stay back and go for a wander. We all met up at the Umong Temple where we went to have a 3hour chat session with an American monk to find out more about bhuddism, which proved to be really interestin and very worthwhile!! Kat and Gareth had booked the next day to do a cookery course which Kat will write about later and take over from me, but i however decicded to do the flight of the gibbon..... this consisted of 12 zip lines, all 120 feet above the forest floor, 3 abseiling wires and 2 sky bridges..... was terrifying but absolutely amazing. I had to get up and be there for 8 in the morning to be picked up.... although i didnt actually get picked up til 8.45.... the minibus took us to the jungle where we would be swinging around for the next 3 hours and i was put in a group with 4 Aussies, and we all instantly got on well and are now together in Pai!!! It was an amzing way to see the jungle, and had been one of the highlights so far!!! that night, me and thes aussies went for a meal along the river and a foot massage at the night market!! Kat is goin to continue from here as we were about to embark on a 3 day trek...with jeeps!!! oooooooooooo!!!
We'll keep you posted
much love and all the best
