Wow, what a 14 hour bus journey, we both won't be rushing to do that again! Managed to sleep on and off.
Arrived at the hostel in the morning, was checking in thinking we were joining the boys Kirk, Joe and Ash in their room which is what we had booked, but something had gone wrong along the way and we ended up NOT complaining. Don't know how we swung it (it must have been our charm and our fresh look after the journey, lol) but we ended up in a two storey aprtment with a balcony overlooking the city for the same price, even used our discount cards, cheeky cows! It definitely didn't feel like a hostel, the boys were gutted, ha, but they didn't really leave after that anyway!
Headed over to the hostel bar for the free Bbq at night and had a great time, didn't stop laughing all night, especially when Laura entered a pie eating competition with three other big guys to win a sky dive, but since she was wiping the sauce from around her mouth and eating like a lady she didn't quite win! Was very impressed with everyones dance moves throughout the evening, Kat kept having dance offs, no surprise there, they loved it, and kept coming back for more.
Woke early the next day for our trip to The Australian Zoo, famously known for Steve Irwin, (RIP). Kangaroos, Koalas, Crocodiles, Birds, Elephants, Snakes, Tigers, you name it, we saw it. Started off with the Crocodile Show, never seen anything like it, even better was that Steve Irwins family, Terry (wife), and his two children Bindi and Bob actually performed the show absolutely making the day, we both thought it was so genuine that they still all perform together, scary stuff as well! We all got up close with the Kangaroos and Koalas and fed the Elephants, taking lots of photos throughout the day, not one to be missed.
Only spent two quick days in Brisbane then the boys left and we totally crashed for the night before heading back on ourselves to Surfers Paradise the next morning....
