The name "la Sagrada Familia" literally translates to "the Sacred Family." The four columns represent four of the apostles. There are four more on the other side, and there will eventually be 4 more more on both the right and left sides as well; to represent all of the apostles. The church will not be finished for 29 more years, as they do not have enough money to complete it quickly. In the middle, there will be giant statues dedicated to both the virgin Mary and Jesus. This church was absolutely amazing to see in person. Pictures do not do it justice.
