Leaving Bangkok we headed north to Chiang Mai. Upon our arrival we found our free hotel, thanks to Jeff's bargaining skills, we then began to walk through the city to see the sites. The sickness is upon us…and spreading fast! A few of us have taken a couple days to rest as we caught a bug coming from Nepal. The first day we took a bumpy bus ride through rocky terrain and began to trek. Walking with all our gear we eventually reached our first checkpoint, at 1400 meters. We ate lunch, dinner and ended our first night playing euchre, anticipating day two. Early the next morning we were driven three hours through the mountains, arriving at the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve game sanctuary. All of us jumped on a bus and took a safari through the jungle for less than one Canadian dollar.
