Well,
I start this blog thing going backward. One of the more painful days today. Fighting headwinds south from lafayette to Morgan city, la. The day started waking up on a picnic table in a park located right next to the u of la-Lafayette-which college students ate running at 5am I do not know. But to each their own. No sprinklers, but not very good rest-still exhausted.
I rode about three blocks, felt tired on the bike and stopped at sonic for coffee and a burrotto-I also shaved and practically showered in their bathroom!
After changing my back tire.....again (that makes 14) I rode off into the unknown to Morgan city, la. I thought I could handle a 68mi day, thought.....
I rode as hard as I could against a headwind for about 12mi and ended up in new Iberia 2hrs later, I thought I would never get there considering I had another 55mi, sleep deprived, and physically in the s*** can.
I stopped ever 8-10mi because I had to rest my legs, and was able to bust a 20mi stretch to reach within 19 of Morgan city-under 20 is always tunnel vision but also the hardest part off the ride.....
Decided to get a cheap motel in Morgan city for the night-a park is not going to cut it. Everyone else thinks this motel is a dump, but to me it feels like the four seasons!
Time for bed-no energy to eat another meal. Will have to get a good breakfast
