HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Wow! I want to be in Bermuda with you!!! Let's rent some Vespas and ride all over the island. We will take a picture of Tony in front of the fort wearing his Scottish kilt. (otherwise,we will computer superimpose the images...) Really, wish we were there with you. Adam and Jeff dropped in for a visit (week ago) It was a surprise and so much fun to see Jeff. Want you to know (1) I love the photo gallery and I do check it out. Dotto. Ditto. New Orleans: somber; There will be no more complaining from CA about the weather. St. Augustine: You have an amazing suntan (please protect your skin.) (2) I don't want you to leave for the Atlantic crossing without knowing how bad I feel about Dan's message which offended Nick. Nick, I'm really sorry. Dan has been 86ed from the computer and he's certainly not allowed to send any more email when he is drunk. You know, he has "issues": all the ocean racing he did on Savoire Faire and Wasabi, they never HAD an autopilot. When I traveled on my sailboat (36' Choy Lee Clipper 36', 13,000 lbs displacement) the cheap autopilot we had never worked if there was 12-15 kts. breeze or more, or ANY following sea. We always used the windvane or we hand steered it (because it kept us from getting bored). I am only commenting. I know in the sailing community, every single person you meet has an opinion and all the unsolicited advice is worth every penny you pay for it. :-) Bless all of you as you leave from Bermuda. Is your WiFi going to work in the Ocean, or will we have to wait until you get to the Azores (or further) to hear from you?

Gee...I guess I should have told you about the AZ trip. It was great, we hit the Grand Canyon on the wat down and rolled into Dad's garage at 5:30pm on the 18th. We had a big party with people from the Corvette club including the Biggars. Spot was there and he and I gave Dad a nice Pink Belly for his birthday. The kids gave Charlie-Dog a lot of much needed attention as Dad has been so busy finishing the garage addition. Our departure was a teary-eyed one.We left sunday evening at 7:00pm and arrived back home the next afternoon at around 4:30pm. Ihave the day off today but Li is working. Everyone sends their love.

Hi everyone. Why have we not been to Bermuda before???? It's wonderful. It's like a bit of old England, a lot of the islands and a touch of Spain in the brightly colored houses. Delle arrived Saturay night and we have been having fun. Today we rented scooters and did some sight seeing. Tomorrow Delle and I are going to swim with the dolphins. The club here has been great. We have had Rum tasting, Barbies and lots of good talks with the other cruisers. It's a little like going to camp. You get to be really great friends with people who you promise to stay intouch with, but you will never seethem again and you don't stay in touch.
Thanks for the postings. I'm always so glad to see that you haven't forgotten us. We took some wonderful pictures today. I'll get them from the camara to the computer and then post them before we leave on Thursday.

Hello all.
As D'Elle said, we made Bermuda about 6:30 on Wednesday. There was mighty big storm out at sea. I took a movie of the waves. I think I will be able to make everyone sick watching it. We only had to hand steer the boat for two days and nights. (it has to do with the UNautopilot) Not that keeping watch all night is boring, but 4 hours of sitting behind the wheel does test your skills at staying awake. Let's see, first I sing all the words to Little Matty Groves, twice, then I do my times tables then I recite a couple of Dorothy Parker poems and hope a half hour has passed. Look at my watch TEN MINUTES!!!! Thankfully, the wind came up and we were able to use the wind vane and life was good again. With the wind vane steering the boat, 30 minutes only seems like a day and a half. I have the 8 to 12 watch, Tony the 12 to 4 and Nick the 4 to 8. Nick says it's great being out there when the sun comes up. I say. If God wanated me to see it, he would have made it happen later in the day. Bermuda is very quaint. It looks a lot like a little old English town. We havent really gone sigh seeing yet. Yesterday we worked on the boat and did laundry etc.
We were the 3rd boat across the finish line. Nick and Tony kept saying that we were not racing and it shouldn't be thought of as a race, only a trip across the ocean. On the 4th day we got a position report and found that we were only 29 minutes behind the 50 foot Swan. We put up another sail and continued to not race as fast as Ronz could go, 9.5 knots. The boat and the boys were loving it. The Swan beat us by a few hours, but it was all in fun and we didn't even think aabout it while we were going through the Bermuda Triangle.
Thanks to everyone for keeping up with us. We get a little home sick and it's so good to get someplace and find WE HAVE MAIL. I'm so excited about D'Elle coming. The guys are great, but they are not good shoppers and they don't give a dam about sparkley body powder or The Tree Tenors singing love songs. We will be here until the 25th. THen it will be the very very long sail across to the Azores. I'm going to get some more books on CD.
