Here is where I'm heading. The mountain, when viewed from the east resembles a human like figure laying on his back. Ancient folklore states that a hungry giant was wandering the Island eating everything in sight. The villagers, made a huge vat of poi and fiilled it with tons of rocks. The giant ate the vat of poi and became so full, that he layed down to rest. He has been sleeping ever since.
