Here we are in Auckland recovering from 26 hours inside a plane. Yesterday was really hot and we ended up on Cheltenham Beach (idyllic: empty, blue water, white sand) on Devonport island. Today we are a little hotel bound by the rain. Auckland is known for unpredictable weather! Tomorrow we fly to Nelson which is north of the south island. We move to self-catering accommodation from this lovely Langham hotel. This morning we had a gym workout and we've just been out for scrambled eggs and pastrami on ciabatta for breakfast (if I keep eating like this I will return to England as large as a house!) washed down by heart-starting coffee. It's raining here but I should point out I'm wearing a skirt so not too cold! Well Steve is waiting for me in the lobby. It's project Saturday night right now. Wanting to book somewhere to eat and then we're heading out onto the town for fun and live music! New Zealand is amazing. I loved it 10 years ago and I love it now. It's charming, friendly, creative and clean. Over and out and love to all, Julia. x
