So it has finally come to the end of my South American experience. Tomorrow I leave Buenos Aires and get a flight from here to Houston and after 8 hours of waiting in Houston airport I have to get another 11 hour flight back to good old Inglaterra! The joys of travelling.
So I've spent the last 2 weeks in Buenos Aires with Charmaine (my best friend), Michael (my cousin) & Frances (my aunt). Had great time here...though the highlight of my Argentinan trip had to be the Iguazu Falls which were absolutely breath taking! Buenos Aires is very European though compared to the rest of South America...it is a bit like a South American version of Italy...lots of pasta, steak & they speak Spanish with an Italian accent which I found hard to get to grips with. The tango dancers here are brillant and we had a lesson but somehow I don't think I'll be Tango twisting much in London!
Overall I've had an amazing time in South America. Besides the obvious tourist attractions like Machi Picchu and Iguazu Falls which were obviously very beautiful and amazing to see I would have to say that my highlight of South America was living in Ecuador! I loved Ecuador, living in Quito, volunteering with the children who were adorable if not little rascals some of the time. Being able to pop to the Jungle for the weekend, going to parties in the Quichua community and even trying my hand at a bit of salsa were all part of my brillant experience living in Ecuador. The people were fantastic and I'm so glad that I got to live in such a diverse, beautiful country.
Right I can now get a job for the Ecuador tourist board..ha ha. So it is 'the final countdown...dada da' go on sing a long...
Looking forward to seeing you all soon
Lots of Love Julia xx
