The Funicular has worked without breakdown since the 1800's. Basically it's a cable car propelled up the hill by water poured into to a tank under it. Once released, the car at the top of the hill comes down with the weight and as this happens it pulls the car at the bottom up the hill. OK, I knew that would be hard to explain. ...maybe Google it :-)
