We were all very tired today after not sleeping very well on the bus. During the day we had a look around the town and visited the citadel, which is a walled city within Hue. In the evening we found a nice bar and played killer pool, which I managed to win?!

We arrived back into Hanoi at about 5pm, and were lucky to get tickets for the 6pm night bus to Hue. The bus had only seats (no beds) so it wasn't exactly a good nights sleep!

At 8am we get a 3hr mini-bus to Halong Bay, which is a world heritage site and has over 1000 limestone islands. We were surprised how many boats (100s) were docked in the bay to collect tourists! We got on our boat or 'junk' as they are called and had a really nice sea-food dinner (which was a bit crap if you are vegetarian!). We then sailed to some caves (which were very very touristy), and then went kayacking which was hilarious! It was pissing down with rain, ...

Hanoi is shoppers heaven!! The streets are named and organised according to what they sell, so you'll have silk street and silver street, there are even rows of shops that just just sell duvets and rows of shops that just sell pens! After looking round the shops in the morning we the prison and womens museum in the afternoon and in the evening went to see the famous water puppet show, which was really good (especially as we had front row seats!).

We checked into a different hotel in the morning and compared to the last few days it was complete luxury! We then walked around Hanoi which is MENTAL!!! The pavements are filled with parked motorbikes and the roads have a constant flow of traffic which constantly beep their horns (which seem to be used instead of indicators!).
