So, a few weekends ago me, Nick, Helena and Ellie went to Tasik Kenyir, Tasik meaning Lake in Malay. It was really fun, we went to a waterfall and swam in the pool at the bottom of it, I have pictures but i will upload them on fbook rather than here, as this connection is ass! The lake is all man made and it is absolutely mahusive! Its not saltwater so it was really nice to swim in, also there were the fish that nibble on your feet in the pool, the ones which you pay alot of money for back home, nibbling here for freeeee :) After the swimming we headed off to a herb garden in which we tried the most bitter drink i have ever drank. They have two special drinks over here, a bitter one for the gents and a more sweeter (tastes like weak tea) one for the ladies. They help promote health, old people here drink them everyday and live to an old age with hardly any disilabating oap illnesses, if you get me.
Last weekend (Fri-Sat remember) we all 4 headed off to Pulau Kapas, google the name to see what it is like :). Again, pics are up on fbook. Its a small island off of the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, next to the Terengganu state. Its was so good, the season is almost over, like in two weeks most of the island will close, due to it becoming rainy/monsoon season, so weather wasnt clear blue sky and the beach wasnt just sand, there was bits of coral and stones and SO many jellyfish, like everywhere. They're weren't deadly, but not nice. The place we were staying was named Capts Longhouse. The lady who was in charge of the place, but not the owner mind, was called Natasha and was from Hertfordshire of all places! She was very nice, she offered to bake Nick a cake for his bday, so we said yes and kept it a secret from him for like a week! The place wasnt a hotel, it was a homestay almost. RM30 for a night then you pay for food and anything you rent at the end. Its a laid back experience as you just jot down the stuff you buy in a book at the bar, then pay at the end, but you could easily end up spending too much. Im not saying it was expensive as it wasnt, well RM4 for a can or potnoodle where in a supermarket it would be around RM1.50 but im not one to complain. The beach was amazing and the water was clear, as I mentioned the weather is getting rougher so wasnt as clear as it could be but was still very very clear! We met two guys while we were there, Matthew from Florida and Jesse from Canada, two really nice, fun guys. They were teachers from China, they had been teaching for different lengths of time; Matthew 18 months, Jesse 12 months but are now travelling round Asia. They have recently this year been round Europe and enjoyed it. We had a really good time chilling with cigars on the beach with the fire dancing! bliss man.
