Crazy carnival.... We left Tena in the morning and headed for Misualli about a 45 minute bus ride away, we were told there is a big party here today and when we arrive into town the road was closed! Cristina arrived for Carnival weekend! Cristina caught an overnight bus from Cuenca and arrived in Tena at around 6:30 in the morning. She didn't have long to relax before we were off on a white water rafting adventure on the Jatuncocha river! Off to the Amazon! We planned on taking the public transportation to the bus station but as the buses came by we could see it was not possible as they were packed full of people, so we took a cab. The Quito bus station was a pretty impressive building and we didn't have to wait too long before we were on our bus to Tena. Market food and Quito walkabout So first things first we headed to the central market so mom could have some market grub!!! I ordered to lunch plates, with chicken soup, rice, chicken, beans and a drink for three bucks! And just as I hoped the chicken soup came with real good portion of chicken feet and innards!!! Old town to New town park walk to meet mom at airport I walked about 7 km from my hotel across the city exploring the parks making my way to the public transit, then onto where I could catch the bus to the airport for a couple bucks. I got to the airport in a couple hours before mom's flight was due to arrive and surprise surprise it was the only one on the arrival board that said it was early!!!
