Hello everyone, how are you doing? First things first, you see the picture of pecaya volcanoe, I climbed that. Obviously not when it was errupting, but it is still active and i roasted marshmallows over the flow. The safety people are pretty slack and they just let us go as close as we wanted. Andy's shoes started melting.lol.
It has not been that long since I wrote on here but i cant remember everything we have done, I know that we have done loads though. We went to loads of small towns which were really nice, they are all very colonial, which is really nice. We have been to more Mayan ruins in Copain, which were not as impressive as chichen Itza. Then we climbed up the volcanoe, which was amazing but i thought at one point I was going to die.
You can't explain the heat, you are about half a mile away and you feel it hit you. The when you are up close the heat is so hot that you cant stand on the same spot for more than 2 seconds. Your feet burn and the rock is so hot that it would scold you if you touched it. Yet the authorities dont care. They just let you go.
Tom travelled with us for the next few days, even though he wasnt on the tour. We left Antigua, where we had climbed the volcanoe, and went acros the border into Honduras. In Honduras we spent a night in Chela, this dodgy town, before we took a ferry to this carribean island called Roatan.
Roatan was so nice, really hot, sunny and our hotel had a pool. The first day we went snorkelling and then jsut lay on the beach. It was ncie to relax for a while because we have been so non stop for a while. The second day there, I did something I have always wanted to do, I swam with dolphins. They were so amazing and the guy put a show on for us, making them do tricks and stuff. Then we swam with them and they played this game where you pick the grass from the bottom and then they come up to you, you throw it and they fetch it, bring it back and then throw it with their mouth back to you. It was the most amazing day, however, at the end, there was a woman who started crying, saying how amazing it was. Not being stereotypical, but she was American.
We left Roatan at about 5 in the morning. Caught the ferry about 8 or something like that and then took a bus for 7 hours to the capital of Honduras, Trgucilalpo, which is a bit of a dodgy place; they all seem to be, the capitals I mean. We met up with Tom and his friend Alex, so we went out for the night. Tom's mate alex has lived in the capital for 4 months so had some honduran friends which was cool. The next day we had another 9 hour bus drive to where we are now, Grenada. I had drunk the dirty stuff the night before and was subsequently sick for the whole bus ride. Not cool.
So here we are in Grenada. That was probably the most boring entry but I couldn't really remember much
Less than a month now.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
