The day's objective was to find two churches that supposedly had timber-framed porches. We were successful at Tonge. The porch was timber-framed, circa C19, and in a poor state owing to the dampness of the area. Although there was very little evidence of deathwatch beetle, there was much staining from wetting and mold and fungus.
