Well its 6.40 on christmas morning, i am wide awake and cannot sleep, so decided to put something on my website. the last week has been hectic and the weather has been cold. monday it was -10c at lunchtime..... my friends over here assure me that winter has not begun. you can imagine my reaction to such a statement. needless to say the thermals are out and the woolly hats are being worn to bed, along of course with the blindfold and the earplugs ....... get the picture ... and the heating is on full blast so you wake up in the middle of night not being able to breath cause the heating is playing with your sinuses. so here i sit, offically my alarm will go off in 20 mins as i am actually working today, gonna wear my santa hat and annoy the kids of dc with tales of christmas cheer and stupid games! so as i consider going back to bed for another 20 minutes - i wish all my loved ones a happy holiday (is that too american?) and a healthy and happy new year please g-d. and i hope you get what you want in your gift box today! lots of love jo xxxx

Happy Holidays!! Great site (and sight) glad that you are enjoying yourself. Work is not so s***e as Nef's but there you go. Did you see he is going to "eat Europe" - its true, read the previous message. Lucky you being in the USA otherwise you would have been in Dave's digestive tract with the rest of us. It may be unpleasant for the rest of the world when it finally works its way through logically. But enough of him!
Shame about Pompey on Sunday, I haven't spoken to your dad yet, I usually wait a couple of days to get over defeats. We are all running around frantically trying to find outfits to wear for the big day. I was thinking of going in a Pompey shirt but I thought (a) they might not see the funny side and (b) I might get selected for the team for the next day's match against Chelsea. You know how I hate playing against Chelsea. Especially now her Mum is in congress.
The drugs are starting to wear off so I shall stop now.
Lots and pots of love.
Happy New YearS

Disco Bunny
blimey an early valentines message!!!! most apprieciated!!!! sheila i loved your message, if the americans are half as bad as the americans and the decorations here, i am not surprised the national grid has been affected..... so what does a disco bunny do at this time of the year you may ask ..... you are not asking? well i am gonna tell you anyway!!!! you work very hard, you have to deal with all the parents who decide that they do not want their kids around at christmas, so they send them to us! tis the season to be jolly ..... a disco bunny plays music at work to sooth the kids and remind them that there is good in the world even if it is the jackson 5 singing 'have yourself a merry little christmas!", a disco bunny plans carefully what she is going to wear for the christmas work party, my work mates are trying to get me to wear a dress - those of you who know me, will know that that dress only comes out on special occassions! (a special dress hi to tony), a disco bunny also hopefully goes shopping tomorrow in delaware tomorrow with bert and emily and a disco bunny also decides which christmas party she is going to go to ..... when she is not working. For those of you who do not know - i am working a double shift on christmas day!!!!! So with all this going on, i am also thinking of all those i cannot be with this holiday season, parents, aunties, uncles, cousins and god-daughters. i am missing you all big time, and wish that i could be with you, i know that i will hopefully be seeing you all in the next few months so that keeps me going. meanwhile i am gonna spend christmas with my d.c 'family' - a special shout out to bert, emily, beau and of course tammy - who i know appreicates all the work i put into the christmas decorations. so whatever you are celebrating enjoy in good health and happiness please god. ps a special special shout out to my mum and dad who are celebrating 40 years together. i love you, you are wonderful and you would have got your card earlier if i had not left it in the back of kendra's car for three days!!!!! jo xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
???
Missing you sweetheart.
Sheila
Hey darling, just spoke to your mum and dad and heard their latest plans for the next trip to the U.S. to see you. Everyone here is okay and well. Maisie and Max are back from university so house is bursting at the seams and busy. Casey is taking piano lessons and loves it. And we all say a big HELLOOOOOOOO to our lovely Jo. I bet you're picking up the accent, I can just imagine it. Don't be homesick. You'll get home and you think Oh, nothing has changed while I've been over there being disco bunny extrordinaire! We have an American family living round the corner whose Christmas lights play havoc with the National Grid. I can only wonder what America looks like at Christmas. Does the White House go in for tacky lights. There must be a joke there somewhere. Have a great time. love you lots Sheila

Hey Jo! I am a little amazed that you caught me eating that peep. For your british friends and family, the Peep is an american holiday tradition. Little marshmallow candies covered with, of course, colored sugar. They now make them for every holiday...peep hearts for Valentine's...peep bunnies for easter...peep trees for xmas...and peep ghosts for halloween. Perhaps these will invade Britain, causing major sugar overloads and a new wave of diabetes. Just what you need after the Coke/Pepsi infusions.
Love and sugar,
em
