Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back in Nairobi now and I have been having a GREAT time.
I can't really remember what I have written so far so I might re-cap.
After we left Nairobi, we stayed at the bush camp at Nakuru, which was fab except it was raining and as it was the first night the tent thing was a nightmare- you will be glad to hear that I have mastered the tent now even after we got new ones that were completely different and ended up collapsing we I tried to put it down!
We had a great time at one camp and everyone got drunk and it was good 'cos it broke the ice and people were more realxed then.
We crossed into Uganda, it is so nice there. We stayed at Lake Bunyoni. It was so cool there. We hired dug out canoe's and went out onto the lake and tried to row to the Island. We got there after 2 hours!!!It is meant to take 10 minutes..haha. The canoes just kept turning around. On the way back the storm hit and we were stuck in the middle of the lake going in circles and the guys from the Isalnd had to come and get us.It was so funny!!! Our driver was watching us and laughing and kept making fun of us for awhile until he got drunk and forgot about it.
The Gorilla trek was excellent. we hiked downhill for 1hour 30 mins and then we found the Gorilla's. There was a big daddy one, another male, mother and cute little baby. They were from a family of 17 but the rest were down the bottom and we couldn't go there. They are so amazing, we were really close and they kept looking at us. At first they were eating rotton wood and then they started moving around more. The baby was climbling on the mother and the daddy was watching then he tried to break the log and when he couldn't he jumped over and charged towards us. We all lurched to the side and the guide was shouting "Don't move, he's only playing". I can't describe how awesome it was, we are so alike, they kept scratching their heads, laying down and doing things just like humans, even farting. Truly AWESOME.
Back in Kenya, we went on a river cruise and saw Hippo's-they are so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We then went to a Masai village, it was really good. They men did a welcome dance for us and then sang and then the women did the same. It was so interesting the way they live and they look fantastic.I really enjoyed it.I bought a cool bracelet there.
We did a walking safari and got up close to Giraffe and Zebra's. I have taken heaps of photos and will try to upload some soon.
We went on another Game drive in the Masai Mara and saw Lions and cubs...ahhhh-so cute! We also saw a pregnant Cheeta, Elephants,Buffalo,Gazelle,Warthogs and heaps of birds.
The following morning 4 of us went up in a hot air balloon. It was brilliant. We saw Giraffe and Wilderbeast. after the ride we had a champagne breakfast. how cool is that, having champagne and bacon and eggs in the middle of the mara!!!
I was sick last night, so had an early night and couldn't have drinkie:(
I have been eating so well and think I may put on weight..hee hee. Even when we cook, the food is great and we eat at the camp-site restaurants quite a lot. We are spoilt. We will start to cook again after tomorrow night when we leave for Tanzania.
We have got a new truck and it is huge and again only for the 8 of us. The masters have left and we got 3 new people.
Now there are 5 of us going to Cape Town.
Will update soon and hope all is good. We will be on Zanzibar for Xmas...YAY
