"Home is where you park it" - ancient gypsy proverb.
Travelling..? Who me..? Not a cat in hells chance guv'nor!! Or at least that's what i'd have said up untill this year. You know when you were just a wee tot and you outright refused to eat your veggies; and your granny would always say "how dya know ya don't like it if ya havn't tried it...?!" Well maybe she had a point...
...'turns out broccoli and sprouts ain't that bad after all.
So maybe it's time to step out of the comfort zone. Loosen the leash, try new things and see what more this world has to offer. Such as American sized food portions and Thai lady boys. In all seriousness, i'm craving sunshine, a few months without routine and basically just a bit of time idling about contemplating what to do with my life from here on in. Plus, Rochdale just doesn't cut it for me anymore. It's turning into quite the HOLE. A sewer like hole, full of disfigured inbred folk (e.g their father is their grandmother, their uncle is their mother) They welcome things like Netto which is a horrible shop.
So me and a friend; Tom, are heading West to conquer some of Americas most notorious concrete jungles. New York to San Fran in just under a month. Followed by a gruelling journey to the Cook Islands. (Free bar with airnewzealand though) 2 weeks horizontal on a tropical beach should see us recoop in time for a 3 week road trip of New Zealand. After our Max and Paddy escapades we head for Australia. To explore the bush like true Ned Kelly proteges'. No return flight booked, no time limit.
The countdown is officially on. It's 11 weeks today. That's 77 days, or if you like 1848 hours until we land at JFK. Already been tempted to pack. This shouldn't be overly time consuming for Tom. He's opting to travel light. Thats right, he'll be the one at Manchester airport that morning sporting lots of layers and an Asdas' carrier bag. Ballsy.
Next stop, the big apple...
