Wednesday 7th Nov The drive to Timber Creek was through the Gregory National Park and as with many of the outback roads there were cattle wandering about ,but this time we really noticed how skinny they all were, rain is needed desperately up here so hopefully it will arrive soon.
Well the bats are back, we certainly remembered the screeching and the smell from when we stayed at Maroochydore. We didn't realise that there were fruit bats at the caravan park but luckily they were down the back of the park near the river. Each day at 5pm they feed the fresh water crocs at the river, we saw about 6 of them.
We went for a drive around Timber Creek, we went to Policeman's point lookout this had some lovely views of the Victoria River. There was another lookout which gave you a lovely view of the town of of Timber Creek and many of the valleys around Timber Creek.
