Out of over 2,500 glaciers in New Zealand, the Franz Josef Glacier is the 7th largest. This particular glacier can move up to a meter a day. We were suppose to hike the Fox Glacier the previous day. However, this was canceled do to rockfall. Instead, we hiked the Franz Josef Glacier the next morning.
