Hi from Toronto,
Well I made it safely to the last stop on my trip. On the flight from LA we flew over the Great Lakes and they really are hugh, it was just like flying over the ocean. Toronto seems to be a nice city yesterday I went up the CN Tower and you get an amazing view of the whole city from the Sky Pod observation level at the top.
I have also been to Niagara Falls on a day trip which was very interesting and totally different to what I had expected. I think that winter is the wrong time of the year to visit the Falls as the 'Maid of the Mist' cruise ships do not run during winter however I did go into the tunnels behind the waterfalls, where you can see and hear the water thundering over the top of you. I had expected the Falls to be in a national park which they are but what I hadn't expected was the tacky tourist town right next door, our tour guide explained that this has been built up to satisfy the American tourists!!!!

Sunday 18th December
Well I can't believe it but today is the last day of my trip. I am off to get my fourteenth and last plane home later today. The last 80 days have gone so quickly but I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have definitely grown to enjoy travelling - even all the boring stuff like waiting at airports - and I am already planning my next trip to China. Despite enjoying my travels I am really looking forward to spending Christmas at home with my family and I can't wait to see everyone again. I have learnt that being away makes you appreciate everything and everyone at home so much more.
I have spent my last few days in Toronto exploring the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery and shopping (for presents for my family) and drinking lots of Gingerbread lattes from Starbucks to get me in the mood for Christmas. On my last night I went ice skating on the ice rink set up infront of City Hall. Most Canadians have their own ice skates and wizzed around whereas I spent most of my time near the side of the rink however I managed to survive without any injuries!!!
Well I don't really have anything else to say and I am sure that I will bore everyone with all the other details of my trip and my hundreds of photos when I get home anyway. So I will finish by saying thanks for reading my journal despite my horrendous spelling. It has been much harder than I thought it would be to write about my trip but I am glad that I have perservered with it.
Finally I hope to see you all soon and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Love Jess
