just had one overnight stop on magnetic island. got the ferry across around dinner time and spent the afternoon there. first priority was to find some dinner, bar man said it was jst on the main street so we set of walking....
what a loose term, main street, we found a handfull of shops after walking at least half an hour which he made to sound like 'on the door step' found a nice little cafe though and along th way we saw some real life Frangipani trees. it would be fair to say i have develop a small obsession with these flowers since being in Oz, they are jsut so pretty and i had only ever seen them in photo's and souvenir things so imagine my excitement when i saw them growing on the side of the road- many photo's were taken!!
after lunch we set out on a forest walk but didn't go far, we didn't feel properly dressed for bush climbing in flip flops and handbags, we reckoned a serious risk of spider/snake bites chances there! was a nice lazy afternoon anyway, not a great deal to do on Magnetic, there are some koala walks but we didn't really have enough time.
the hostel was really quite nice though, little sort of huts but on the beach front, comfy and clean anough. saw some wild possums wondering around at night which was cool. we just got the ferry back the next day for the onward trip to Cairns...
