4:50am was the start of a long day. On the train from Clapman Junction to Kings Cross Station to catch the 7:01 EuroStar. We left our bags in the foyer of our hotel and set out to find an early lunch. It was not all that far to the Eiffel Tower so we were off, from there we walked along the Seine taking in the sights until we got to Notre Dame. It was very hot (some signs saying 41!) and we had not prepared well with no sunscreen!!!
We bought cheese, homus and chicken to go on rice cakes and a baguette for dinner and washed it down to a French red.
We headed out again at 10:30pm to see the Tower at night. Lined up for tickets to the top but they had closed the top just before we got to the office. Not deterred, we rode to the second level which gave us beautiful views over the city and a little bit of breeze. Back to the motel around 1:30am - a very long day and about 20km!!
