Well on boxing day we arrived in Melbourne - i got burnt cos muppet here put aftersun on instead of suncream!!!! Not sure how i managed it think i must have been half asleep!! Anyway met up with Laura's friends Dan and Mel, wicked people, really, really nice. We stayed at their house for the evening and the cooked us a lovely veggie stirfry mmmm. (i've just noticed that there is a kind of food trend running through my emails!! never mind) Thenext day we got up early and walked to the MCG stadium to see the cricket. We had brillaint seats up the top, right above the barmey army, which provided great entertainment throughout the day wiith their singing! The first quarter was very exciting and loads of Aussies got bowled out!! Of course the barmey army were goign mad!! The middle section was very boring as all that was happening was Australia getting loads of runs!! To be honest i nearly feel asleep!! The best thing were the Aussie croud - they dont have chants. There chant consisted of " aussie, aussie, aussie, oi, oi, oi!!" that was as good as it got!! The last part of the day was good though we bowled a few more people out and Shane Warne stepped up to bat. Not really a cricket lover but it was still good to see a cricketing ledgend before he retires. Darryl from bryon bay met us at the cricket too. That eveing was excellent we went out with Dan and Mel and Dan's friend met us out. Surpirse surprise Laura pulled his mate!! The next day Dan took us on the puffing billy train apparently the oldest train in oz! It was a really funky little train where you could hang your legs out the side. Could you imagine the health and safety of doing that in England!!! Dan also tookus to this place where wild birds 'crimson rosellas' came and took food right out of your hands. They were suprisingly gentle!! The next day was back to Sydney and to Mel's parents house!!!
