This is how solid wood is bent. (I did saw then into 6 individual slices then steamed them for an hour to make it pliable to bend.) I had tons of help from two of my shop teachers with this one.

Yay! I figured out how to respond to posts! It may not come home, it costs $300 to ship it to DC and I think that is a littel steep. I have a few days till the payment is due to decide.
