With just over 48 hours to go and having just finished a conference call in my other role as Region International Adviser for Girlguiding North West I thought I should follow a little of my own advice and start a blog about my international adventure this summer to the World Scout Jamboree in Japan!
To go to such a huge event, especially in Asia has been a dream of mine for 12 years now since some of my friends headed of to Thailand while I was off to my first jamboree in Germany. Ever since that time I have looked out for such an opportunity and just over 2 years ago I found an advert online to apply to be part of the Contingent Support Team for the UK Contingent to the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015. Not only that but there was the perfect role focusing around travel, I had to apply! I did, and the rest as they say is history. 2 years of planning and preparing, lots of new friends and I am just about packed and ready to head to Japan. One more day off work, one final day to cross as much off my to do list as I can and I'll be on my way! While I'm away I'll no doubt be tweeting and posting on Facebook but I will also try to update this blog so feel free to follow and see what me and the rest of the Contingent are up to in the land of the rising sun! #japan2015
