Xian The hostel in Xian is a lovely building with a central courtyard. However, because we went for the cheap option our room was in the basement with no air conditioning, it was hot! Beijing After arriving at our hostel in Beijing we where handed a notice that there would be a curfew in the centre of Beijing. This was so they could practice the 60th anniversary celebrations that are due to take place on the 1st of October. Gobi Desert We continued our journey through Mongolia down to the Gobi desert near a town called Sainshand. Elstei Ger Camp We had an early start as our Mongolian friend on the train was up at 4:30am sorting out his things to get off the train at 6:10am!
