Kolkata streets are mostly narrow and filled with vendors selling everything from pens, paper, clothing, food, and drinks to wood tools, toilets, tires, phones. You name it, they have it. The reality is that this is a true picture of democratic capitalism because there are so many vendors competing and negotiating prices that the buyer can have their pick of the best quality for the price they're willing to pay. I think the US's monopoly capitalism could learn a lot from the Indian people in this respect.
