After flights from Fairbanks to Seattle to Cleveland to Albany, (all were on time which was amazing) we finally arrived home. It was a great trip....saw unbelievable views...learned a lot about the great state of Alaska...permafrost, wildlife, etc...and had a great time!! Now for some R & R!!!!

Well we are sitting in the Fairbanks airport waiting for our flight to Seattle. I have not been able to keep up with the blog too well since we haven't had wifi for a couple of days. On Monday night Bruce and I toured the Huskey Homestead...home of Jeff King 4 time winner of the Iditarod...got to hold the puppies and heard about his adventures on the trail. It was a lot of fun.... Yesterday we left Denali and took the bus trip to Fairbanks...it was pretty rain...

Today we toured Denali National Park and Reserve. We didn't get to see too much wildlife...just the racks of several caribou and some call sheep way up in the mountains. It is a beautiful park...got lots of pictures. I forgot to mention that we were lucky to see Mt. McKinley several times ...not many are lucky to see it. Tonight we go to see the ididerod(?) dogs. Spent the morning hiking around Mt. McKinley Lodge and relaxing. After a 2 hour bus ride arrived at Denali Lodge just outside Denali National Park. Denali is the native name for the mountain. Enjoyed the Deniali dinner show....reminded us of the hoop-dee-do review at Disney. Good food and great show...tomorrow we visit the park.

Saturday we left the ship around 7am and took the train to Talkeetna, a small town near Denali. Curt, Bruce and I went on a fishing excursion. The fishing was all that Bruce hoped for....we must have caught about 40 salmon..Bruce alone caught at least 20!!! Pretty exciting afternoon!!!
