Well we have crossed the Friendship Bridge into our next country Laos, which was a one hour bus ride from Nong Khai - strange experience we were on the bus then we all had to get off walk through customs get back on for 2 minute ride then back off to go through customs at the other end then back on!?? We are in the new capital Vientiane which is like a building site at the moment they are resurfacing all the raods and covering the sewers over - sounds nice!!!!!!!...

Its Halloween and we are off to join in whatever activites are here in Nong Kai, which is Northern Thailand.  We arrived this morning after a 12 hour train journey on a 2nd class sleeper train (didn't want the expense of first class!).  We have booked into a really nice guest house 6 pound a night for the room which is probably on the high side but we wanted our own bathroom and air con (keep those pesky mosquitos at bay)  Mind you we have stil...

The big goodbye weekend!After what seems like an eternity of goodbyes and a shed load of tears (well from Dawn anyway) we are nearing the start of what is going to be an absolutley fantastic adventure. We will say the last of our goodbyes to Jays family and Chis and Leona this weekend and Big Ron on Monday as he leaves us at Manchester Airport! I wonder whether we will look this refreshed in a year!!!!!Bangkok here we come..............
