With a great sense of optimism and a dash of adventure I venture further into the world.

I guess it's just the excitement building up, six months in the waiting, but the nerves are kicking in. It's two day till I'm scheduled to part from this great sunburnt country to embark upon what I hope, although I already know, will be an amazing journey.

Two months away from home in the historic continent of Europe. To me this moment will be a milestone that I will reflect upon throughout my life mainly because it will be the first time I'm flying solo, let alone to Europe. At 20, this for me is a huge step to fulfilling what I was suppose to accomplish upon the conclusion of high school. Despite this, I probably wouldn't change that for the world; two years older and two years wiser.

Sometimes I think I'm making too much of this journey and expecting a miraculous change when I return but that's a part of being young and naive. To learn is to experience; to experience is to doubt; to doubt is to question and through questioning we learn to understand, even if only a little.

I'm a young traveller embarking upon my first, and definitely not my last, big adventure.
