Named after the site where the communications cable from Australia to Java came ashore, a return trip was a must after enjoying yesterday's surf. We all enjoyed the waves for both boogie boarding and body surfing. As you can see it was a great spot to cool off in yet another day of 33 degrees!

Another highlight of any visit to Broome is enjoying Cable Beach. After a couple of days swimming in the pool we headed to the beach at high tide to enjoy the sand and surf. It was busy with camel rides and lots of sunbathers.

Another low tide highlight coinciding with a full moon is the Stairway to the Moon as it rises above the mudflats in Roebuck Bay. A night market at Town Beach was popular with both locals and visitors - the food was yummy.

With a very low tide late in the day we are able to access some dinosaur footprints preserved in the rocks at Gantheaume Point. Can you guess which one? The sunset was spectacular and we found some ospreys nesting in the lighthouse framework.

We arrive in Broome and are pleased to see some leafy green trees after travelling in 36 degree heat. We have a few things to see in the next week when it's a full moon and the tides are big. With a diverse cultural background Broome offers lots to visitors, including night markets with food stalls and free entertainment.
