We head south and stop in Maryborough where it's hard to believe how deep the Mary River can flood. Recent floods in 2013 flooded much of the shopping area and many houses throughout town. We travel on to Tin Can Bay where we catch a few small leatherjacket and unique fish from the town jetty.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! Mum's birthday and we start the day with a yummy breakfast at EAT @ Dan and Steph's (previous winners of My Kitchen Rules). We then go to Leanne's place for a roast lunch and a swim in her pool. To finsh the day we have some takeaway Thai from a local restaurant.

Today was an early start to catch the barge from River Heads and finally get Fraser to "his" island. A highlight was a visit to Mackenzie Lake with it's clear waters and sandy beaches. We spend much of the day driving in the forest on sandy tracks until Dad got bogged not far from the beach. After about an hour of digging we are finally pulled out by some other 4WDers and then make it to the beach for a quick trip to Eurong. We then travel back across the island ...

Today we spent lots of time exploring the foreshore which has a long esplanade running along it. Fraser and I enjoy a swim at the beach and see a few small fish in the water. For dinner we head out with Leanne and Rochelle (Mum's friends who left Ballarat last last year) to the local pub.

Leaving Bundaberg we travel inland to Childers where rain threatens to fall. A few showers and we arrive on the Fraser Coast at Hervey Bay where we find out about tours, etc at the visitor centre. And we just had to stay in a caravan park on Fraser Street didn't we!
