Cusco is an amazing place. Full of plazas, churches and friendly people, once you get used to touts trying to sell you anything and everything, even trying to convince you that they could polish your flip flops! Had a magical day when we went to visit Machu Pichu.  Was a very early start leaving the hotel at 3am but that meant that we got
there before the hoards arrived and when the skies were clear. As we left MP
at about 2 the clouds had covered it so it could not be seen so glad we left
so early. Bloody froze though on the bus and train but was very hot once up
there.
We were absolutely amazed when we got our first sight of MP. The city was named after the mountain of said name and the guide told us that you could climb it to get the best view of the city and that it would take 90 mins, but as we only just made it up to the city we decided against it...so unfit!
It was just wonderful and took lots of pics. We had a guided tour and were pumped with loads of information but the scenery was very distracting. The views on the way home were also breathtaking. Peru is truly a beautiful place!
Just arrived in Nazca after a 14 hour overnight bus journey from Cusco, was the most hairy ride yet. All the way down mountainous, hair pin bends. Have already been on a 35 minute flight in a cessna over the Nazca lines, most strange. They are still not sure why they were made but there are definite images of animals etc engraved into the desert landscape. Look them up for more info, very interesting. Anyway, going to join Andrea and take in some rays before next journey.
