Here a monk approached our guide and asked him if we were students. He had no English but seemed curious. After our guide told us that a monk can never touch or be touched by a female. He also told us that the monks are the most respected people in Thailand, more so than the king. The king must bow down to monks and if seated must sit lower than monks. The respect here is phenomenal and I am in comets awe of it and the traditions kept.
