Perth is one of the most isolated cities in the world and believe me this becomes evident while you are flying over the sheer vastness of nothing. Desert just spreads for miles and miles underneath the plane. According to reports the nearest city to Perth is not Australian but Asian it is Singapore and Perth is also one of the fastest growing economies in the world due to the vast amounts it exports each year. In short Perth is a very young city but it is growing fast.

We were very warmly welcomed by James's family, Margaret and Jo Keenan, who took us in and made us feel so welcome and like we with our families again.

They tirelessly took us round their amazing city and showed us some great sites such as Kings Park which boasted views of the entire city and surrounding river. We also visited the local towns and a magnificent Wildlife park named Caversham. There we witnessed the most active aussie mammals we had ever seen. It was spring so they were all very awake and doing what they do in spring.

In return we took them to a Celtic game in a Celtic Supporters pub.
