J & J's Travels
Hey peeps,
Arrived in Hanoi after a very stressful and long plane journey - only joking it was a lovely treat after endless bus journeys. I think James already mentioned that it was a bit of a shock to our systems arriving in the capital, it was twice as busy as Bankok and the endless beeping of car and moped horns will haunt our dreams for eternity me thinks. We escaped to a lovely "City View" cafe where we could survey the city away from the hussle and bussle and just giggle at the madness going on down below. I hope I have not protrayed too awful a picture of the Capital City as it was very picturesque when you escaped from the hussle and bussle and took it easy on a little "cyclo" trip. Our poor driver retired shortly after taking us on an hours trip due to sheer exhaustion of having too chuby Scoties in his cyclo.
After two days in Hanoi we escaped to the amazing Halong Bay and booked ourselves on a junk boat for one night. It was an amazing teak wooden boat with red sails, it had a lovely dining area and rooms like a hotel suite.
We visited an amazing cave in the centre of one of the limestone Karsts and then swam til our hearts content in one of the bays. I think we both agree that Halong Bay has been one of our favourite destinations so far. So beautiful, it is definately a must see place.
Hope you enjoy the pictures (which will follow shortly as I am slow with gadgets), although it is quite frustrating as they do not capture the beauty of the place as well as the human eye.
Love the two J's xxx
