Robyn and Adam had the day off today so we packed our day bags and headed to 'Rottie' Island. I tried to book James and I bikes for when we arrived but the lady at the desk was so miserable that she didn't add it on. James is so charming that we managed to get bikes anyway, for free! It was a rarity that nobody was hung over, but we were all a bit tired so Robyn, Adam and I had a snooze on the way over we were all ready for a day of biking. Throughout the day we biked around, almost, the whole island spotted quokka, a GIANT pelican and some humpback whales in the distance! The weather held out for us the whole day and we enjoyed some beers at the port just because we had burnt so many calories with all the biking!
On the train ride back Robyn had another run in with the train people, the guy recognised her from the previous night and as he was on a huge power trip he wouldn't let them on the train with bikes! Fortunately a more reasonable man let them on as long as they got off a stop early! Robyn made us chicken adobo in the evening to get our palates prepared for the Philippines, it was delicious!
James and I had been signed up to play in the house volleyball team. Robyn had given us a bit of heads up of the type of game we'd be playing, no out rules, indoor sand and rally point. It all seemed a bit alien to me but when we got into the match it was really fun! We beat the opposition quite convincingly and hopefully we'll be able to play before our flight next week!
