So I'm off to Dublin in two days and I can't wait to see the city, even though I know there will be a large amount of work involved.
If you're wondering why there is a fair amount of work involved, well I'm off on fieldwork with my university. We're in Dublin for two days looking at regeneration, citizenship, the economy and having a general look around. I believe that there will also be an element of archival work in the university too...fun :(.
Then we're off to Wicklow for another two days, where we will walk in the national park and examine the managment methods used to preserve the national parks for future generations. On the second day out at Wicklow, I'm under the impression we'll be looking at the active fluvial processes present there, which will involve field experiments....even more fun.
Then we have two days to complete work (two essays and a presentation) which will be given in (and in the case of the presentation, presented) on the last day. I'd be more excited to go if I knew that so much work wasn't expected. But hey, I'll be going out and painting the town red at least once during the trip, and I'll be eating out (I cannot wait for the Mongolian BBQ).
So I'd better get packing and tidying for the trip...next entry will be submitted during the trip (hopefully).
