Hi Everyone,
Our last night in Cape Town we spent having a few drinks with the friends we had made got to bed at about 4:30 in the morning and were up at 6 to catch a coach to Jeffreys bay. After an 11 hour coach journey we stayed there one night and spent the next day at the beach before catching another coach to Storms river.
Storms River is where we Bungeed off Bloukrans Bridge the highest bungy in the world at 216 metres. Once we had paid and zip wired 200m accross to the centre of the bridge there was no turning back. We were all sat in anticipation waiting our turn out of us Jade was up first then Aimee then Charlie. They strapped our legs together then walked us to the edge and we had no option but to dive off. We all managed to jump first time, it was an amazing experience.
We left Storms River Saturday night and jumped on the baz bus to Port Elizabeth for a night, then up early Sunday for a 16 hour journey all the way to Durban. We did plan on staying here for a week but there wasn't much to do. So after 2 nights we ventured further to Northern Drakensberg. We stayed here 3 nights and it was practically in the middle of nowhere. However our first day there we hiked to the highest waterfall in Africa ( the 2nd highest in the world). It was about a 5 hour hike climbing up a steep 250m of the rock face to reach the top. We were caught in a thunder storm at the top and then had to face 250m down on wobbly iron ladders in the pouring rain trying hard not to slip. It was a relief to be back at the hostel and dry off where we spent the evening in the jacuzzi. The next day we went on another trip to Lesotho which is another country within South Africa. Here we visited a local school, Climed more mountains to see some ancient walls paintings which the Sanmen drew thousands of years ago. Then we visited a Sangoma their traditional witch doctor before heading off to try their local food and beer. Our last night in Drakensburg was spent having a few chilled drinks with people we had met and the British Army.
On Friday we jumped on the baz bus for one last time to go to Jo'burg where we are staying until sunday morning. Then flying off to Phalaborwa for two weeks working in the Monkey Sanctuary.
Lots of Love
Jade Aimee Charlie
