So this is the last ever blog entry!
We've spent the last 2 weeks of out trip in Los Angeles, on our plane we were with some of the people we met in Fiji and we all spent our first week together.
At the beginning on our week we were staying on Hollywood boulevard where we saw all the stars on the walk of fame. Our first night we went to see a Disney film 'Wall E' at El Capitan Theatre. At the beginning there was an organist who was playing songs from disney films, followed by all the characters coming on stage and dancing and massive explosion of stars before the film had even begun.
During our time in Hollywood we also went on a tour of celebrities homes, however alot of them were so well hidden that you could only see the gates. We were able to see the Fresh prince of Bel air's house, playboy mansion and many more. We learned alot about the area of LA; clubs that were owned by celebrities, where people worked before they were famous etc. We also went down Rodeo drive, which is where all the celebrities shop but being skint backpackers didn't do any shopping. All the houses in Beverly hills were massive and we were shown down a street where a few horror films were made.
Next we went to Universal studios were we spent the day on a "few" rides and various special effects sets. Which included a studio tour where they are currently filming desperate housewives and ghost whisperer, how a fire is produced on set...it was really hot and were shown how some special effects were created.
Over the weekend we said goodbye to our friends then headed first to Santa Monica where we spent the day browsing the shops and going on the pier where there was street performers and a fun fair. On the beach next to the pier there was a huge memorial for all the soldiers that had died in Iraq, with crosses representing them all across the sand.
We then headed to Venice beach where we spent a few days. Here we went to the beach and the waves were massive and pretty much knocked us out each time. I think we were both constantly having to hold onto our swim stuff! Each time in the sea however our fun was stopped by the lifeguards making us come in as the waves were getting too big. We also went rollerskating whilst here we were really rubbish compared to everyone else wizzing passed us. We skated all the way up to Santa Monica and on the wat back Aimee managed to stack it; skates flying in the air and ending up flat on her arse! Venice beach is filled with market stools and loads of street performers and even the world famous muscle beach where everyone was working out outside.
For a final few days we are back in Hollywood and going to Disney land on Friday before flying home on Saturday. We have well and truly embraced the American culture by not eating anything apart from fast food, so will be good to have some real food once were back.
We've had an absolutely amazing 6 months, cant wait to see everyone when were home!
Lots of Love
Aimee and Charlie xx
