Oort was only a 70km journey from Mysore, although we went through a few tiger/elephant reserves and also ascended to 2300m, and therefore mastering vicious hair pin bends. It took a total of 5hours to cover the 70km. Once we arrived it was actually COLD!!! It was such an amazing feeling, like air conditioning the whole time we were there. Ooty is famous for it's chocolate, and since we hadn't had any 'normal' chocolate since we both left it was a real treat....

We had a awful coach journey to finally arrive at Mysore. We paid for a sleeper coach (basic, no A/C but beds tater then seats. We started on a semi sleeper with A/C, about the same price but not what we wanted. We stayed on this the whole 14 hours. The problem was however that our first driven was driving like an idiot. Other passengers were feeling ill, an Hannah was one of them. Almost had to go and tell the driver to swap with his partner a few times. Mysore...

A few sweaty busses later we arrived at dusk in Palolem. Before we even stood from our seats a chap jumped on and sold us a beach hut for the night, we weren't really sure what to expect for his £1offer. The train to Anjuna was a 12 hours, and the first long distance journey on India. due to ticket availability we couldn't travel over night which would e ideal since you save on accommodation costs.
