We arrived in Hue at about 1.00pm and found a nice guesthouse which was run by a Vietnamese family. One of the ladies was really old and crazy - she pinched both mine and Jack's bums on the way out the guesthouse, and punched me in the stomach! First time i've ever been battered by an old lady!! They didnt speak any English, but we managed to communicate somehow!!
That afternoon James and I went to the forbidden city. It was worth going to see, but after Angkor Wat, there's not many spectacular ruins left to be honest!
We were going to go on a boat trip on the perfume river the next day, but I wasn't feeling too well, Jack wasn't fussed about going, and we had a 14 hour bus journey ahead of us that evening to Hanoi so we wanted to feel ok.
The journey wasn't as bad as we'd thought, and the chairs recline really far back so you could actually get some sleep. We took a picture of the guy who set up a hammock on the aisle - if you didn't see proof you wouldn't believe it! Good idea though!
We arrived in Hanoi at 7.00am the next day......
