Went to Lapa last night for a street party with the people from the youth hostel. It was great, hanging out with people from around the world and sharing a similar experience as us. Going to 'be a local in favela' today in Rocinha, the largest favela in Latin America. Fi, congrats on passing your driving test. Hope you are all well. :) x

hey there!! I have just seen the photos and i'll have to say that Rio looks absolutely beautiful, esp the waterfall looks great! It was worth for me to come to the airport to see you off, even though i wasnt looking forward to it saying goodbye to my best friend! but now i'm glad i went, it was fun and thankfully there was no tears (apart from a few ladies!). U've have only been there for 3 days and it is only the beginning and remember - Carpe Diem!! : P

remember when u (andre) and me went to swanage and somehow u got scared of the sharks in the sea, is there any sharks in brazil?!?! lol, dont get bitten by snakes in the rivers! now u're scared now lol!!

Hello from your fellow Irish buddies, from the green fields of Ireland! Sharrup right?! ;) The photos look absolutely brilliant, I bet Andre will have an album by next year basically full of him and 2 lush ladies which will prolly be handed around all the men! (But I trust that Andre is not that sort of bloke!! ;) "look, me went GAP with 2 hot ladies!" I can just imagine!) I had my cochlear implant switched on 2 days ago, and mi god, it's totally ... NOT what I expected (although I knew I would not like it, it was still a shock!) its better now, am gg back n forth to the hospital to update my "map" (every one who has a cochlear implant has a different program to suit them; like the digital aids remember?) Am at Cait's now, and after YEARS of Cait being deafer than ME, I'm now following her like a lost puppy asking her loads of questions and of course the "whats that noise?" and Cait looking like the expert on cochlear implants replies "the phone!" haha!
The photos look MARV! It looks like you did a LOT in only under a wk! We giggled at that dodgy guide!
