Had a long flight and certainly a weird one as we flew backwards around the world. Flew over the south pole and It was daylight the whole time outside, passed the international date line which means we missed a day. Surprised that there is a wide range of ethnic miniorities here, Asians, Chineses, Somalians etc. Weatherwise - it is warmer here than South America but then again we are on the North Island. Off to sort bits and bobs before starting our Kiwi adventure. :) Hugs x

Hi everyone - we have just landed Auckland this evening after a long flight from Santiago. We are excited about starting our Sheepdog pass after the weekend but very exhausted since it's now approx. 13 hours ahead of UK, not 5 hours behind. My body clock is still fixed to GMT that I rarely sleep while travelling from place to place. Auckland looks much more 'resourceful' and importantly, has English-speaking people after spending a wonderful month in South America, tackling the Spanish/Portuguese culture. Even had HSBC and STA travel near our hostel! Oh, the things we take for granted in England *shook head* Best be off 2 catch up sleep! Night night , or good morning it is for you people. S xx

Hey Ross - ´Surprise right?!`Good to hear you´ve passed your driving lesson. Time you drove Hermi around a little eh? And yes yes, you SHLD consider a GAP year, one of the best decisions we have made. Remember it may only happen once and keep tuned in our site to see what´s in store for you next time! Btw peeps, Santiago is one hell of a friendly place, linked up with one of Emlyn´s contacts of the Chilean deaf people tonight. Tmw, we are treated with a tour by one of them, which we will gather for a meal afterwards. Followed by a long-lusted house party! Looking forward to it! Missing you all and me must get myself to bed right this minute. Many hugs xxx
